Minor Surgery

Is performed at the surgery, and is discussed with the Doctor first.

Cervical Smears

We suggest that cervical smears are done every three years, generally from the age of 20-64. However, younger women may also be eligible. If you feel your appointment is overdue, please check with the Practice Nurse.

Health Advice

We are also very happy to offer you advice in specific areas, namely high blood pressure, asthma, stopping smoking, diet and stress. However, we are always prepared to look at other areas subject to demand. You only have to ask.

Antenatal and Postnatal Care

For the care of pregnant and nursing mothers, held in hours convenient to both parties. The Community Midwife holds clinics regularly, antenatal care will be shared by her and the Doctor.

Holiday Vaccinations

Advice and all holiday vaccinations are available from the Practice Nurse. Minster Surgery is also a Yellow Fever Centre.

Non-NHS Examinations

Medical examinations for special purposes e.g. elderly drivers, pre-employment, insurance medicals, etc can be arranged by appointment. A fee as recommended by the British Medical Association will be payable for these examinations.
