Healthcare Assistant

Surgeries for the Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants are booked in the mornings from 8.30a.m., and by booked appointments in the afternoons from 1.30p.m. The nurses offer advice on contraception, health promotion, cervical smears, blood pressure, diabetes, asthma and travel vaccinations, and will be happy to see minor injuries and minor illnesses.
The Practice Nurses can be contacted for advice between 11.30a.m. - 12.30p.m. on 029 20839720 at Brynderwen Surgery and between 11.30a.m. - 12.30p.m. on 029 20473999 at Minster Surgery.
District Nurses
The District Nursing Team, work closely with the doctors and are able to provide treatment at Home and advise about care and convalescence after discharge from hospital. They may be contacted on the following numbers: Brynderwen Tel No. 20333360 and Minster Tel No. 20192114
Health Visitors
The Health Visitors can give expert advice on your own and your family's health care. They run the Child Health Clinics with the doctor, and are happy to give advice for all family problems. The Health Visitors can be contacted on the following numbers: Brynderwen: 029 20255115 and Minster: 029 20400826.
Midwives
The Midwife runs antenatal and postnatal clinics in association with the doctor.
Counsellor
There is a Counsellor available at both Brynderwen and Minster Surgeries. Patients should see their GP first who will arrange referral to Counsellor.
Receptionists and Clerical Staff
Our receptionists and clerical staff are here to help you. They have a busy job to do and sometimes will need to ask you more details about what is wrong with you, to help you be seen as quickly as possible. They will always treat what you say in strict confidence.
